A day in the life of Marshall B. Hamon, age 4 months 19 days

*Valentine’s Day Edition*

A lot has changed in the past few weeks. Marshall has seen some trends come and go. Much like last month with his rolling over which surfaced and the disappeared for a few weeks, perhaps some of these trends will resurface later. Trend 1) Marshall started drooling. It lasted a few days and now the drool is gone. Trend 2) Marshall is a head rocker! Tim was a head-rocker/banger as a baby too. His rocking started on Monday of this week when I left Marshall home-alone with Tim. Coincidence? I think not ;) Item 3) (not really a trend). We brought home a new swing from Bob and Janet and put Marshall in it on Sunday night. He self-swung! It was crazy and I will have to get the videos posted soon. However, he has not shown any interest in self-swinging the last 3 days. He rather just suck on his fingers or a blanket if we put him in the swing now.

From the Feb 5th doctor appt:
Weight: 13 lbs, 10 oz (25 - 50%)
Height: 25 in (50%)

Everything else looked good. Doctor encourged lots of tummy time so that Marshall will learn to do the reverse roll (tummy to back). She said it would take 2-3 weeks, but Marshall has found that he doesn’t mind resting on his tummy (rather than rolling back onto his back). Every morning I find him on his tummy and propped up on his arms looking around. I’m not sure how long he’s been that way. Does he wake up in the morning on his back and choose to roll over? Does he do it in the middle of the night? I think the risk of SIDS is quite small at this time. If Marshall’s fine with sleeping on his belly, I’m fine with Marshall sleeping on his belly.

Onto our day with Marshall, 2/14/07:
