Teacher let the monkeys out

Hi blog!

*crickets chirp*

Oh blog, don’t be that way. I didn’t write because I actually didn’t have much to say. It wasn’t because I didn’t love you. Please, I promise to be better about writing, and you want to know why?

I’m done with my godforsaken VB.net programming class!!! Hooray! No more programming for me! I hate debugging. I hate not knowing how much time it will be before something will work. I don’t have the patience for it. So kudos to all you programmers out there. You have my admiration.

My other time had been occupied with floor hockey. I’m trying to get a Tuesday night league together at the Clairemont High YMCA rink. I’ve had 43 people get back to me with interest, so I think that will happen. This is assuming that the Y can negotiate that time for us. I’m basically waiting to hear back from them. I also took up the summer captaining gauntlet for Pope’s Summer League. I think I drafted a pretty good team. I guess we’ll see how my wild card picks pan out.

Tonight I fly out to Denver to see Angela! Yippee! We’re going to head out camping for the weekend in the Crested Butte/Gunnison area. I’m sure it will be breathe-taking. Tim will be left home with all his man-friends for the MENTAL ™ (Men Enjoying No Transgressions in Alcohol or Lasciviousness) bachelor party experience.

Oh…my… Ganache

Those were the words Angela uttered after tasting Michelle’s chocolate-ganache cake. For those of you unfamiliar with ganache, it is a rich icing/filling made of chocolate and cream that has been heated and stirred together. Michelle has very selflessly taken on the task of making our wedding cakes. On Friday we gathered to do a cake-testing. Now planning a wedding is very stressful, but I have to admit all the food that goes along with it is awesome.

On Sunday, at my lovely bridal shower, you could once again find us chowing down to our heart’s content. Special thanks to Jeannine, Angela, Michelle and Angela’s mom for putting the shower together. I’m so lucky to have such great friends.

Next up, more food tasting at our reception site, May 12.

Random Photo Catch-Up

Here are a few images from April that I’ve been meaning to post.

This once-full bottle was purchased from a little Indian market off of Clairemont Mesa. It’s a product of coca cola, so I thought it would just taste like Coke. Well it was definitely a cola, but definitely not Coke. Perhaps Coke infused with Bubble Gum Flavor!? If someone knows what flavor it actually is, please let me know. It was very sweet and Danielle and Jeannine both found it as unpleasant as I did on first taste. However, as I drank the bottle, the taste grew on me. Which lead me to question, “Damn, are they still putting cocaine in some of their foreign-marketed drinks!?” Bad Coca-Cola, Bad.

Image 2 was taken at the Earth Fair in Balboa Park

Bruised, eh? I haven’t heard that one before. Well I’ve heard he died for our sins. But bruised for iniquities? That doesn’t sound all that bad. What kind of quote is that to put on a large posterboard? Now I’m not trying to make fun of anyone’s religion. I just find it to be an odd choice for sign. Check out the John 3:16 next to this poor kid. That seems to be a reliable choice for a sign. I would report more on what actually was going on at the Earth Fair, but there really wasn’t much to report. I had hoped they would have on display the newer hybrid cars that are coming down the pipe (like in years past), but this year all I got was one lousy hybrid SUV. Now I’m happy that such a car has come out, as people want their SUVs, but I’m not sure how popular it’s going to be. People want the horsepower that comes with regular SUVs, and not until some mandate is handed down to the general public will they stop their gas-guzzling ways.
